About
ARTIST. DESIGNER. CREATIVE.
Born in Tokyo, Japan, Haena Kang is a Korean-American painter based between Brooklyn and Upstate New York. Her work explores the terrain of liminality where identity shifts, memory stirs, and transformation takes root. Through layered abstraction and instinctual mark-making, she creates landscapes drawing from her personal experience of cultural displacement. Her mixed media approach act as portals and speak to the temporal and the unseen: moments suspended between grief, hope, isolation and connection.
Haena has exhibited in the U.S. and Taipei and received support from the AWAW Emergency Relief Grant, Artist Relief, and the Tri-State Relief Fund.
She is also seasoned creative in the design and advertising world. Visit her linkedin profile to learn more.
